We have had a busy few weeks at SCF, and I neglect We have had a busy few weeks at SCF, and I neglected taking a moment to stop and appreciate and congratulate some awesome 18 year olds who have had a big impact on the shop. These young men graduated high school earlier this month and are both bound for great things. First, my son Cameron. While he’s only welded a little, he has always been a huge help behind the scenes. Whether it’s running errands, cleaning up and prepping plates for aux tanks, or even just helping me clean… he’s been a huge help. He will be heading to high performance automotive maintenance school in a couple months. Second, Elias Haynes. Elias’s mom Tawny has been a family friend for a few years. Elias started coming in once a week right after we opened, learning to weld and helping around the shop when he could. He enrolled in the welding program in high school and completed it taking and passing AWS welding qualifications last month. Now he’s joining our crew for the summer before he starts the welding and fabrication program at FVCC this fall. I’m excited to see what these two accomplish in the future, and hope to keep them part of the SCF operation for as long as we can.
